Byronas Loft, Byronas

A former 60 sqm retail space in Byronas is transformed into a contemporary residence, making the most of its five-meter ceiling height. A steel structure organizes the interior across two levels, creating a flexible loft that accommodates two bedrooms, a living and dining area, a home office, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

The project’s main design challenge was the apartment’s ground-floor location within a dense urban neighborhood. The design ensures privacy from the street while allowing abundant natural light to penetrate the interior. Perforated partition elements filter light throughout the space, preserving the openness of the layout and enhancing the sense of spatial continuity.

A key requirement of the project was the integration of a private parking space—an increasingly rare luxury in the center of Athens. Rather than being treated as a secondary utility area, the parking space is fully integrated into the architectural concept, becoming an essential part of the living experience and one of the project’s defining features.
